C. Scott Ryan is an Ayurvedic Practitioner and Yoga Instructor, as well as a Chartered Herbalist. He was an English and Philosophy Major at Dalhousie University in Halifax, where he completed two years. He has been studying Ayurveda and Yoga extensively since 1997, and most recently completed the Gurukula program with his beloved teacher, Dr. Vasant Lad, in Pune, India . Scott is deeply committed to the principles of the traditional practice of Yoga and Ayurveda. His articles have appeared in Parabola Magazine and Light on Ayurveda Journal – A peer reviewed Ayurvedic Medical Journal, he also writes Ayurvedic Columns for several on-line magazines. Scott is also the author of several Ayurvedic e-books (find them on our Resources page).
Scott is a member of NAMA, and is the Co-founder and Director of Golden Lotus Ayurveda, and he offers Ayurvedic Consultations, Marma therapy, Shirodhara, Abhyanga, Yoga classes and Ayurvedic education.
Jessica Pyper is a certified Asthanga, Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga instructor.
She completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Himalaya Yoga Valley in Goa, India.
Jessica has been practicing yoga for approximately six years and is absolutely loving every little aspect and benefit of what yoga offers. Growing up with a mother who is a personal trainer and manager of a gym, she has always had a passion for nutrition and wellness. Jessica enjoys spending as much time as possible in the outdoors; doing yoga on mountain tops is one of her favourite pass-times. Jessica teaches a dynamic, yet holistic and simultaneously peaceful Asthanga class that is suitable for all levels-even beginners! She believes yoga is for everyone, especially those who are "inflexible" or have never been to a yoga class before.

Lisa Ewan - I began practicing yoga in February of 2002 during the first year of my studies at the University of Calgary. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology specializing in Exercise and Health Physiology in 2006. The human body has always fascinated me.
Like many people, I was originally drawn to the physicality of the practice, the challenge of being strong, still and steady, and exploring the limits of my body. I was fascinated with the unique and sometimes seemingly impossible shapes and positions I was asked to, “just try”. The start of my yogic journey truly was a rediscovery of the body I had been living in for 21 years yet felt completely disconnected from, even though I had considered myself athletic. I was getting to know myself in a way I didn’t even realize was possible. It was excruciating and euphoric and everything in between. I needed to know more and took my 200 hour teacher training in 2008.
Over the years of practice and teaching, with much digging and peeling of layers, yoga helped revealed my softer side that thoroughly enjoyed the quiet mediation, the gentle, nurturing power of the practice, and the pranayam (yogic breathing). My spirit craved a new exploration which took me to Vancouver Island to study energy medicine at Windsong School of Holistic Healing in 2010 after a summer in Whistler to ride my bike!
I returned to Calgary in 2012 - after another summer and winter in Whistler - to co-own the Bodhi Tree Yoga Studio on 14th Street. In December 2015 I gave birth to my darling son, Enzo. That was when my husband and I decided the city life was not for us and moved to Golden in April to be closer to the mountains and his family.
I absolutely adore being a mother and am over the moon about coming back to a space to be of service and share my passion. In my classes a focus on alignment and the development of a strong sense of one’s own body are stressed. I am a firm believer in balance and lightheartedness on and off the mat.

Liisa Laine presents a slow yet powerful flow yoga, which is a fusion of Hatha and Vinyasa.
Liisa has her own authentic, gentle and very hands-on style of teaching. Her classes are run very intuitively, and a number of options are given to help make the poses suit each body and mind. She emphasizes the importance of alignment, as well as a meditative and restorative approach to practice. After all it’s all about balancing the yin & yang elements in life. Liisa has practised yoga more or less ten years, and shared the practice through teaching since 2013. She is a Yoga Alliance certified teacher and completed her first 200 hours training with Satu Tuomela (from Finland) and Ramesh Tarun Narine (from Canada). She is planning to continue towards Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda studies later on. She is looking forward to cross paths with you in this journey
Dalia Yanai brings her love and knowledge of Yoga, Ayurveda, body-work, herbs and cooking into her practice of Holistic Health. She believes that treating the whole person rather then just separate symptoms is the key to real, profound healing. Dalia has been studying Yoga since 2000 and Ayurveda since 2002; She completed her Ayurvedic Studies Program I and her 200 hr Yoga Teacher's Training at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM. She had traveled throughout India and South America, and wishes she could travel even more!
Dalia is a CD(DONA) Certified Doula (Birth Assistant), and she feels extremely fortunate to be present at that moment when a new life enters this world. see more under the Doula page.
As the Co-director of Golden Lotus Ayurveda, Dalia offers Pre-and-Post Natal Yoga classes, Yin Yoga and other classes – all in a gentle, dynamic and fun approach to the practice. She also offers Swedish Relaxation Massage, Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Diet consultations, Reflexology treatments, Shirodhara, Abhyanga, Ayurvedic Cooking classes, and various lectures and seminars.
Randa Sultan is a certified Energy Healer and Qigong Practitioner and passionate about helping others. Her journey to holistic health and wellness began over 20 years ago, seeking out help with a series of physical and emotional issues. Most treatments focused on the symptoms and relief was only temporary. Through the study of energy medicine and qigong, the focus shifted to the underlying cause of the symptoms and she has been able to heal herself, and guide others along their healing path.
She is excited to share the practice of qigong and help others reach their optimal health and wellness. She is deeply grateful to her teachers and continues to train in Spring Forest Qigong, meditation and energy medicine, in order to learn as much as possible and spread this knowledge. Kristie Norquay is a physiotherapist, yoga teacher, and yoga therapist. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in PT, and went to India to complete her yoga teacher training shortly after. The blend of physiotherapy and yoga sparked her interest in Yoga Therapy, and she graduated from Susi Hately's internationally accredited Therapeutic Yoga program in 2016. Kristie’s other post graduate studies include courses on movement system impairments, pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction, breath, and pain science.
Kristie loves taking a holistic approach to her clients’ wellness. She has a passion for integrating the philosophy of yoga into her physiotherapy practice, and looks at injuries or illnesses in the context of an individual's life. There is a connection between everything within us and around us, and Kristie loves to help you create awareness of how that shows up in the physical body.
She likes to take pleasure in the little things, like an afternoon nap, a nice glass of wine, or a tasty treat from her garden.
Kerri Lautamus teaches alignment-based yoga with a deep connection to the breath.
She finds great joy in helping people achieve health and happiness by guiding them to find a relationship with their breath and a connection to their body. With breath and body unified, there is a natural quietening of the nervous system, and a path to the peaceful part of oneself is available.Kerri is a graduate of the 200 hour YTT at Shanti Yoga in Nelson, BC. She has been practicing yoga for 11 years. She also has her own massage practice at Nourish Clinic, where she offers relaxation, deep tissue, and prenatal massage as well as reflexology, jin shin do, and abhyanga.
Golden Lotus Ayurveda was established in 2006 in Golden, BC, by C. Scott Ryan and Dalia Yanai, who met and fell in love at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM.

Audrey Duval's yoga journey started after a ski injury. As a downhill ski and mountain bike coach she quickly learned the importance of practicing yoga as a complement to the sports she was already doing, she said: "it not only got me physically stronger but also gave me clarity in both my sports and my personal life".
Studying with Tiffany Cruikshank opened new doors, she became fascinated by alignment, anatomy, and the power of controlling your mind allowing you to push yourself even more in life or to the next level in your favorite sports. She strives to share her passion all over the world, by including little bit of yoga when she is traveling to teach mountain biking.
She takes pleasure in creating classes that will allow you to drop into your zone, with significant alignment focus to get you ready for the next time you play on the mountain.

Janis Dyck is a registered Art Therapist and artist, who recently completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher's Training course through Sacred Seed Yoga. she has over 20 years of experience helping others to use Art as a practice of healing, exploration, reflection and growth. Janis is committed to the power of creativity, meditation and Yoga in her own life, and inspired to share this with others. Janis lives in golden with her husband and two boys
Alana Jung believes that yoga is a way to experience awareness and truth so that we can love fully, live in peace, and truly feel at home in our bodies and minds. Alana has been practicing yoga for 11 years and sharing yoga through teaching for the last 6 years. Originally, she completed teacher training in Ashtanga, Flow and Yin yoga. She continues to learn through studies with Richard Freeman, Seane Corne, Shiva Rea, Sarah Powers, Jennifer Pritchard, Vipassana meditation and partner/acro yoga. She offers her community a playful practice based on inclusion, acceptance and celebration of diversity.
Alana believes teaching comes from love and criticism comes from insecurity. She looks forward to learning and laughing with you soon!
